Seeing Red – Autumn Winter 17/18 Fashion Trends.
Red is the colour! It certainly is the new black right now. For autumn we’re taking our style cues from Mother Nature it would seem and it’s all about a bright bold palette, it’s about vivd reds, statement reds, slashes of red, whatever you do, get some red in that (whatever you’re wearing. It’s a key piece for both men and women this season and can be seen across the board, high end, high street, everyone wants to stand out and be notices. It’s really channelling the whole vibe of the moment, empowerment, standing up, standing out.
Having trailed around the shops on many lunch breaks and between meetings, I can assure you, it’s a sea of Red out there, so you”ll have no trouble finding something to suit, as there are all shades within the red spectrum on offer, I know, I researched it laboriously (check out my instagram if you don’t believe me). So for me, wha’t getting my attention in a sea of much the sameness, is those real standout pieces, that simple though they may be, just have that little something extra, beyond being simply red, that will truly demand the attention when you enter a room.
I haven’t even began to cover evening wear in this little round up, because let’s face it, that’s a whole feature in itself, so much to choose from, this is just a brief little round up of some of my favourites out there right now, the kind of clothes that would make me pay attention to anyone wearing them. The kind I’d wear myself especially if it happened to be the red Mochino number or the red biker jacket above, hint, hint (oh my husband doesn’t read this, shame). For me there are key designers or brands that spring to mind when I think of needing something red that’s going to change my mood, usually Vivienne Westwood, Mochino, Alexander Mcqueen ( think that Kate in that red dress), you know those, yes I’m here kind of simple clothes that just do all the work for you in their ability to strike a pose.
So, go, play with the red colour palette, don’t be shy, if you ‘re gong to wear red, stand tall, shoulders back, own it!
